The history for Bauska State gymnasium started on 22nd of September 1919 as Bauska City high school. The school has had quite a few name and location changes over the years. For example in 1944 the schools building was destroyed because of World War II but it didn’t stop the learning process. Only in 1951 the school returned to the reconstructed building that it’s still in to this day. In 2011 our school officially became Bauska State Gymnasium.
It’s never boring here for students because they can sing in the choir, dance in the folk dance ensemble or debate. The Gymnasium is well known outside our city not only because of these groups, but also our amazing athletes and students that take part in nationwide competitions. Also the student council organizes discos, dress up days and other fun events. Our school takes part in international projects like Comenius and Nordplus Junior making friendships all over Europe. Our school has got one of the highest exam results in Latvia between all State Gymnasiums.
